The short answer is: Appointments are highly recommended, but we will always do our best to help you if you drop in.
To ensure every vehicle receives the focused attention it deserves, we operate on a “scheduled first” basis. Here is why we prioritize appointments:
-
Quality & Precision: As a specialized shop, we value “fixing it right the first time.” Scheduling allows our technicians to dedicate the necessary time to your vehicle without rushing, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
-
Predictable Turnaround: By managing our shop volume, we can give you a realistic completion time. This respects your schedule and prevents your car from sitting idle longer than necessary.
-
Parts Preparation: When we know you’re coming, we can often pre-order the necessary parts, getting you back on the road much faster.
What if I have an emergency or a small “quick fix”?
We know that car trouble doesn’t always give you a heads-up. If you have a minor issue—such as a flat tire, dead battery, a burnt-out bulb, or a simple oil change—please come by! We keep a portion of our workflow flexible to “work in” these smaller, easily resolved jobs between our larger scheduled repairs.
The Bottom Line: If you have a major repair or a specific deadline, an appointment is your best bet. If you’re in a pinch with a small task, stop in and we’ll do our absolute best to fit you into the lineup as quickly as possible.
Repair time depends on the specific job, the complexity of your vehicle, and part availability. While every situation is unique, we strive for efficiency without sacrificing safety.
General time estimates for common services:
-
Oil Change: About 1 hour.
-
State Inspection: About 1 hour.
-
Brake Service: About 2 hours (per axle).
-
Diagnostic Scan: 1 to 2 hours (to accurately identify the root cause of a light or sound).
Factors that may affect your timeline:
While we aim for a quick turnaround, a few variables can shift the schedule:
-
Part Availability: We stock common filters and fluids, but specialized components or parts for older/rare vehicles may need to be ordered from a local warehouse or the manufacturer.
-
The “Discovery” Phase: Sometimes, during a routine service like a brake change, we might find a seized caliper or a leaking seal. If we find something unexpected, we will contact you immediately with an updated timeline and estimate.
-
Drop-off vs. Waiting: Customers who “wait” for their vehicle are prioritized for these shorter windows, while larger repairs are generally scheduled as “drop-offs” to be completed by the end of the business day.
Pro-Tip: If you need your car back by a specific time for work or school pickup, let us know when you book your appointment. We do our best to prioritize our workflow to meet your deadlines.
